Quantitative parametric connections between methods for generating noninferior solutions in multiobjective optimization

چکیده
In multiobjective optimization, the trade-o information between dierent objective functions is probably the most important piece of information in a solution process to reach the most preferred solution. Generating methods are the methods in generating noninferior solutions. Dierent generating methods provide decision makers trade-o information in dierent forms. Various generating methods are characterized in this paper and the quantitative parametric connections between these generating methods are established. The result in this paper is then used to consolidate tradeo information with dierent formats associated with dierent generating methods. Ó 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Evaluation of the Constraint Method-Based Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithm (CMEA) for a Three-Objective Optimization Problem
This paper presents a systematic comparative study of CMEA (constraint method-based multiobjective evolutionary algorithm) with several other commonly reported mulitobjective evolutionary algorithms (MOEAs) in solving a three-objective optimization problem. The best estimate of the noninferior space was also obtained by solving this multiobjective (MO) problem using a binary linear programming ...
متن کاملMultiobjective Differential Evolution with Application to Reservoir System Optimization
Many water resources systems are characterized by multiple objectives. For multiobjective optimization, typically there can be no single optimal solution which can simultaneously satisfy all the goals, but rather a set of technologically efficient noninferior or Pareto optimal solutions exists. Generating those Pareto optimal solutions is a challenging task and often difficulties arise in using...
متن کاملGenetic Algorithm based Multiobjective Optimal Power Dispatch based on Ideal Distance Minimization
In this paper, the cost of generation and system transmission losses have been considered as objectives for optimization. The multiobjective optimal power dispatch (MOPD) problem is formulated using weighting method and a number of noninferior solutions are generated in 2D space by varying weights for IEEE 5, 14 and 30 bus systems – manually using GA technique, by using GA toolbox of MATLAB R20...
متن کاملXergy analysis and multiobjective optimization of a biomass gasification-based multigeneration system
Biomass gasification is the process of converting biomass into a combustible gas suitable for use in boilers, engines, and turbines to produce combined cooling, heat, and power. This paper presents a detailed model of a biomass gasification system and designs a multigeneration energy system that uses the biomass gasification process for generating combined cooling, heat, and electricity. Energy...
متن کاملA General Class of Convexification Transformation for the Noninferior Frontier of a Multiobjective Program
A general class of convexification transformations is proposed to convexify the noninferior frontier of a multiobjective program. We prove that under certain assumptions the noninferior frontier could be convexified completely or partly after transformation and then weighting method can be applied to identify the noninferior solutions. Numerical experiments are given to vindicate our results.
